While a cool feature, it wasn’t one that would break the game if it was absent.įiring arcs are easily doable, but again while it would be awesome for an older player, it’s information overload for a young player. In the end it was one of the only features we were thinking about, but shelved. However, getting it right would have meant a lot of time on everyone’s part and with such an atypical development cycle (14 month - shoooooort) there were other areas where people brains would be better applied. Way-point placement and ship control from within the Star Map was one of the first things we thought about - after all this was exactly the sort of thing we added to Homeworld: Cataclysm over Homeworld. Just as shooters always have those super-hardcore, realistic damage model game mods, Treasure Planet could have its cut-throat, here there be gamers version for the older players. Ideally, I’d like to see the mod-aspects opened up, allowing older gamers to create on top of our game. This is obstensibly a kids game and I think we’ve got it in a good place for kids to get into the game. Personally I don’t know how much we’d add to the game interface-wise, if we had the chance. Partly as the game is just out and any decisions will have to be made by Disney over the next handful of months. Well, at the moment the chances of a patch to add features is a bit slim.
